“There were moments in my labor I had no idea where I was or what was going on around me, but I know I felt her reassuring touch and presence there.”

My wife and I had the pleasure of working with Leah for the birth of our first child this January. From the start Leah was attentive, knowledgeable, accommodating with our work schedules for initial meetings, and comforting when moments of fear and doubt crossed our minds (and they do when becoming new parents!!). Leah was extremely responsive to messages and calls and always left us feeling reassured and cared for. Even though we had attended birth classes we still felt that many aspects of birth, especially natural birth at a birthing center, felt unknown and scary to us. Leah reassured us and put us at ease so that we could truly focus on enjoying the last months of pregnancy.

I did not have a typical labor: I spent nearly 48 hours going through birth, most of that being the intense contractions of active labor that stretched out over days. Leah ensured I was safe, in contact with my midwives, and that my wife also felt supported during what became a very arduous journey though everything. There were moments in my labor I had no idea where I was/what was going on around me, but I know I felt her reassuring touch and presence there. She was a rock to both my wife and later my mother that joined us, and I know they were extremely grateful for her unwavering support.

After birth, Leah continued to gift us with her presence by sharing beautiful photos she had taken during the birth(something we had no idea to expect and thought incredibly generous and kind of her). She visited us postpartum and gave every thought and detail to sending us off on our new life as moms. We now consider her a friend and definitely support to our little family, and can't wait to see her on walks around the neighborhood. 100 percent hands down I recommend Leah as a Doula for your birthing experience. It will be one of the best decisions you make regarding birth.

“I have so much appreciation and respect for her and highly recommend working with Leah to anyone who wants to work with the very best of the best.”

I truly believe that Leah saved my life. During a particular scary medical complication immediately following the birth of my child, my minutes-old baby was whisked away and given to my husband while the doctors tended to my medical emergency. My husband and baby could not stay with me, but Leah was right there with me. She stayed by my side, held my hand, and kept me awake when I was so afraid that if I closed my eyes I wouldn't wake up again. I have tears in my eyes as I am writing this and am so thankful that Leah helped me stay coherent and that her presence and reassurance calmed me during a very tense and frightening moment.

My entire experience working with Leah was extremely positive. Leah is very reassuring, knowledgeable, kind, and is a strong advocate for her clients. I have so much appreciation and respect for her and highly recommend working with Leah to anyone who wants to work with the very best of the best.

Thank you, Leah. I am so happy you were a part of my birth journey bringing my sweet baby into this world safely and soundly. We will always remember you.

“Leah came over for the first time after I contacted her - completely sleep deprived and overwhelmed. She walked in, swaddled my baby, gave me a hug, took me grocery shopping, and brewed me tea while listening to my fears and frustrations. COVID hit, but she was more than available virtually as I navigated new parenthood. She has always been available when I need support - whether it is issues with breastfeeding, learning baby, bathtime, etc. She made me feel validated and comforted - and gave me confidence that I can be an amazing mother. She is on top of making sure everyone's needs are met - from sleep to meals to showers, Leah is so gentle with approaching needs and making sure baby is secure. 8 months later, she is still helping me with things like breastfeeding weening, nutrition, and sleep. I highly recommend Leah. You can count on her and depend on her as a support and friend.”

“Leah is kind, understanding, informed and simply put the BEST! She really knows her stuff.”

“I reached out to her in the middle for lactation support. I had several issues nursing with my first child so with my second pregnancy I knew I would need more support. I was comfortable with Leah right away. She took the time to understand my history with my first pregnancy and helped me establish goals and game plan for my second time. I learned so much with just my first conversation with Leah. She then followed up with me both before I had the baby and post partum. From a friendly check in to see how things were going, to emails with additional resources when I requested them; Leah was always on top of it and available when I needed help.

I would have given up on nursing if it wasn't for Leah. Her moral support and her vast knowledge of the many issues I dealt with; along with her ability to calmly lead me to a solution have kept me going. Breastfeeding is not easy for me and it is difficult if not impossible to find the right answer. There is too much conflicting information on the internet and having tried several lactation consultants with my first pregnancy and getting nowhere with any of them; I can honestly say Leah is a godsend. She made me feel seen and heard. Most importantly, with every hurdle, she came up with a solution that worked best for me. Her support is truly invaluable! “

“Leah came into our family just a couple days after me giving birth. We immediately had a connection and she was an immense help when it came to us transitioning into our life as new parents. The first few weeks of motherhood were overwhelming and I so needed someone that understands what I was going through as a new mom. She was always available when I needed support whether it was issues with breastfeeding, learning baby’s cues, teaching me how to wrap and bathe the baby or joining me on ad-hoc doctors’ visits. She made me feel at ease and gave me confidence that things are going to be okay when I hit another bump. She would make sure that I am cared for - reminding me to drink, eat and get rest. It was the best decision I made to have Leah as our postpartum doula!”

“Leah is a magical salve for the new mom and for the new family as a whole. “

“After my daughter was born in a planned Caesarean birth, I felt groggy and and overwhelmed dealing with the combination of my own healing body, acclimating my baby to the world outside of the womb, and feeling a bit smothered by too much out of town family visiting. Leah came over and helped both in the daytime and at night. She acted as a buffer between myself and visiting family in moments when I needed some space. In those moments that could have been awkward she put everyone at ease making us all feel taken care of. She even brought postpartum power food snacks sometimes! At night she would stay with my baby and feed her as needed so that I could catch up on sleep. She was so comfortable with my newborn (and vice versa). She reassured my husband and me that we were doing everything just how we should be, that there are many ways to parent and many ways for a baby to be as well. She often had tips and fun facts to share with us as well, spouting them off in a way that felt generous and never pedantic or patronizing. In those early days it definitely felt like baby was safer in her able hands than under our own watch! That is all to say that she is very knowledgable about all things baby, birth, postpartum nutrition, baby wraps, (and more) and she is excited to share what she knows with anyone who wants to know. Her positive energy is contagious and I can't recommend bringing her into your life more.”

“When we left the hospital, Leah was the best person to greet us when we transitioned home. When we were frantic about what was normal vs not normal for a newborn, Leah calmly educated us, made us feel 100% more at ease, and gave us more confidence as new parents in how to take care of our sweet babe. When I got frustrated about how difficult nursing was going for me and panicked about not knowing anything about my pump, Leah helped me understand  how to use the pump and best practices regarding washing and caring for pump and bottle parts. She helped tidy up around the house, cooked a few homemade meals, and had amazing product recommendations that fit the specific needs/preferences for our little nugget. Leah truly helped us understand our baby better, and what were the best options for us in caring for him and ourselves as a family.”
